Tarik Cohen Retires After Attempted Comeback with the Jets

Tarik Cohen, the former dynamic running back for the Chicago Bears, has announced his retirement from football after an attempted comeback with the New York Jets. Cohen, who had been an electric runner, receiver, and returner, saw his career derailed by a broken leg and multiple knee ligament tears in 2020, followed by an Achilles tear in 2022.

Cohen’s comeback journey began after seeing an unflattering photo of himself, which motivated him to overhaul his diet and intensify his workouts. This renewed dedication led to a training camp stint with the Jets, where Cohen felt he had regained his former explosiveness and football intelligence.

Despite feeling physically prepared, Cohen’s efforts to secure a spot on the Jets roster ultimately fell short. He expressed pride in his journey and the resilience he showed in attempting to return to the NFL, but he has decided to step away from the game. Cohen’s story remains one of perseverance and determination, even as his professional football career comes to a close.
