Randall Cobb and Family Narrowly Escape House Fire: Surviving the Blaze with Only the Clothes on Their Backs

Veteran NFL wide receiver Randall Cobb and his family experienced a terrifying ordeal as their Nashville home was engulfed in flames due to a malfunctioning Tesla charger. The incident, detailed by Cobb's wife, Aiyda, on social media, occurred late last night and left their house severely damaged.

The fire began in the garage, where the Tesla charger caught fire, rapidly spreading through the home. Aiyda Cobb recounted the harrowing escape on Instagram, stating, "The Tesla charger caught on fire in the garage late last night and quickly spread. We got out of the house with nothing but the clothes on our back and no shoes on our feet."

Despite the severity of the blaze, the Cobb family, including their three young sons, managed to escape unharmed. In a follow-up post, Cobb shared images of the soot-covered garage and revealed his brave return to the burning house to save their dog, Louie.

"First and foremost, we are all safe and healthy," Cobb wrote. "We got out of the house and I was able to go back in and get our dog, Louie. We can't thank Chief Caruthers, Captain Irvin, and the Nashville Fire Department enough for their swift action. I can't get the image of the brave firefighters getting into position out of my head; he didn't even have water to shoot yet."

Although the extent of the damage remains uncertain, Cobb emphasized the importance of family health over material losses. "Unfortunately, we don't know how much, if anything, will be salvageable, but this has been a reminder that nothing is more important than the health of our family."

Cobb, currently a free agent, has had a prolific 13-season career in the NFL. Known for his tenures with the Green Bay Packers, Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans, and most recently, the New York Jets, he has accumulated 630 receptions for 7,624 yards and 54 touchdowns in 166 regular season games.

The Cobb family is now relying on their Nashville community and close friends for support as they navigate this challenging time. "We are grateful for our incredible community in Nashville, and the support from our close friends that have given us a temporary roof over our heads as shoulders to lean on," said Cobb.

As they work to rebuild, the Cobbs' resilience and gratitude shine through, underscoring the outpouring of love and support from fans and friends alike.
