Miami Dolphins Secure Tua Tagovailoa with Four-Year, $212.4 Million Extension

The Miami Dolphins have solidified their commitment to quarterback Tua Tagovailoa by agreeing to a four-year, $212.4 million contract extension, according to NFL Network insiders Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo. The agreement, which includes $167.1 million in guaranteed money, puts to rest any doubts about the team’s faith in their star quarterback, the fifth overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.

This new deal follows an offseason trend of lucrative contracts for elite quarterbacks, and it ensures that Miami’s quarterback situation is settled for the foreseeable future. Tagovailoa, who silenced critics with a standout 2023 season, led the Dolphins to their second straight playoff berth. He started all 17 games, marking a personal milestone, and earned a Pro Bowl selection for his efforts.

Tagovailoa’s performance last season was nothing short of impressive. He topped the NFL with 4,624 passing yards and set a career-high with 29 touchdown passes. His stellar play has clearly convinced the Dolphins to invest heavily in their young quarterback, aiming to build a championship-contending team around him.
