Marshon Lattimore Returns for Saints Minicamp Amidst Offseason Uncertainty

Saints cornerback Marshon Lattimore, a key figure in trade rumors throughout this offseason, skipped the team's voluntary offseason program, a move not unusual for him. However, Lattimore is set to participate in the Saints' mandatory minicamp, which began this week.

Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports that Lattimore is present at the team facility ahead of Tuesday’s minicamp kickoff. Lattimore, who was the 11th overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, has spent his entire career with the Saints and looks poised to start his eighth season with the team.

Injuries have limited Lattimore's play over the past two seasons to 17 games, during which he recorded two interceptions. Despite these setbacks, Lattimore remains a significant defensive asset, having last earned a Pro Bowl selection in 2021.

Lattimore’s contract, which runs through 2026, has him counting $14.616 million against the salary cap this season. With this being the final year of his guaranteed money, speculation about his future with the Saints continues, making this season potentially pivotal for his tenure in New Orleans.
