Kansas City Chiefs' Isaiah Buggs Arrested for Second Time in a Month

Kansas City Chiefs defensive lineman Isaiah Buggs has been arrested for the second time in just over two weeks.

Buggs, 27, was booked early Sunday morning in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, on charges of domestic violence and burglary. According to online records from the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office, he was released on a $5,000 bond later that day. No further details regarding the arrest have been made public at this time.

This incident follows a previous arrest on May 30, when Buggs turned himself in on two misdemeanor counts of second-degree animal cruelty. The charges stemmed from allegations that two dogs under his care — a pitbull and a rottweiler mix — were found neglected and severely malnourished. Sadly, one of the dogs had to be euthanized. Buggs' agent, Trey Robinson, has claimed that these accusations are part of an ongoing effort to force the closure of Buggs' hookah lounge in Tuscaloosa.

The Chiefs, who signed Buggs to a futures contract in February after he joined the practice squad in January, have acknowledged the latest incident but declined to comment further.

This arrest adds to a string of off-field issues for the Chiefs this offseason. Wide receiver Rashee Rice is facing eight felony charges, including six counts related to a six-vehicle crash in Dallas on March 30. Additionally, offensive linemen Chukwuebuka Godrick and Wanya Morris were arrested last month in Johnson County, Kansas, on misdemeanor marijuana possession charges.

Buggs, who previously played three seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers and two with the Detroit Lions, is now facing significant legal troubles as he attempts to secure a place on the Chiefs' roster.
