Coastal Carolina and Delaware have unveiled plans for an exciting home-and-home football series set to take place in 2026 and 2029. The matchups, announced jointly by both schools on Tuesday, mark the first-ever football meetings between the Chanticleers and the Blue Hens.
The series will kick off with Coastal Carolina traveling to Delaware on September 3, 2026. In the return game, Delaware will visit Coastal Carolina on September 22, 2029. This series will be particularly notable for Delaware, as the Chanticleers will be the second nonconference FBS team to play at Delaware following UConn’s visit in 2025.
Coastal Carolina, coming off an 8-5 season capped by a 24-14 victory over San Jose State in the Hawaii Bowl, competes in the Sun Belt Conference. Delaware, which finished its final season in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) with a 9-4 record and a second-round playoff exit to Montana State, is set to join Conference USA in 2025 as it transitions to the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) starting this fall.
These games promise to be a thrilling addition to the schedules of both programs as they continue to build their football legacies.
