Clemson Tigers Eye Four-Star Defensive End Zavion Griffin-Haynes for 2026 Class

The Clemson Tigers continue to make waves on the recruiting trail, building momentum for their 2026 class after a top-five national finish for 2025. Head coach Dabo Swinney and his staff are actively pursuing elite talent, and one notable name on their radar is four-star defensive end Zavion Griffin-Haynes from Rolesville, North Carolina.

Griffin-Haynes, currently ranked as the No. 11 edge rusher in the nation by 247 Sports, has attracted considerable interest from major programs including Florida State, Auburn, and Penn State. Despite the competition, Clemson remains a strong contender thanks to consistent communication from their coaching staff.

In a recent interview, Griffin-Haynes expressed his appreciation for Clemson’s defensive coordinator Wes Goodwin and defensive ends coach Chris Rumph, highlighting their enthusiasm and vision for his potential role in their defense. "I’ve mainly been chatting it up with Coach Rumph and Coach Goodwin. They love me, can’t wait to get things started with those guys and think I can play a big role in their program," he stated.

Though an official offer from Clemson has yet to materialize, Griffin-Haynes hinted that one could be forthcoming. "They’re looking forward to offering me soon. They would’ve offered me during camp season but I didn’t have the chance to come up. Definitely a top school," he noted.

Griffin-Haynes has built an impressive high school career and his skill set suggests he could be a significant addition to Clemson’s defense. As the Tigers aim to replicate their recruiting success from previous years, his potential commitment would be a significant boost to their 2026 class. Keep an eye on this developing story as both Griffin-Haynes and Clemson navigate the recruiting process in the coming months.
