49ers Eyeing Trade Deals for Brandon Aiyuk with Browns and Patriots

The San Francisco 49ers are exploring trade opportunities for wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk with both the Cleveland Browns and the New England Patriots, according to a source familiar with the situation, NBC Sports Bay Area reported on Monday night.

Aiyuk now has the task of evaluating and deciding on the contract terms proposed by these two teams, as per the same source.

The 49ers have allowed Aiyuk to engage in contract discussions with not only the Browns and Patriots but also the Washington Commanders and Pittsburgh Steelers. However, the Commanders have pulled out of the negotiations, and the Steelers are no longer viable contenders after failing to agree to the 49ers' trade requirements.

Both the Browns and Patriots have extended their final offers to Aiyuk's representatives and have put forward trade packages that the 49ers find acceptable. Should the trade materialize, the 49ers are expected to receive a veteran wide receiver along with a set of draft picks in return.

In particular, the Browns might secure Aiyuk by including wide receiver Amari Cooper in the deal, a move suggested by Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com.

As the situation unfolds, it remains to be seen whether Aiyuk will move to Cleveland or New England, potentially reshaping the receiving corps for either team while providing the 49ers with valuable assets for their roster.
